How frequently do you post on Facebook? How frequently do you blog? With a blog, you want to create an atmosphere of sharing, providing great information mixed in with your offers. With your blog, you want people to come back and read your content? Right?
When you don't post very often there is nothing new to see and when people do come back and find nothing new, you will find people won't stay on your site and they won't come back. There's nothing new for them to read. Not only does this mean people won't be reading your content. It also means that the search engine spiders from Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc won't be coming back either. As a result it will be harder and harder for people to find your blog.
So why do you actually want to post in the first place?
1. You're going to attract new customers and you are going to be able to keep you're the current customers engaged. You will demonstrate to your current and potential customers that you are reliable and trustworthy.
2. You're going to be able to inform people of the services and the products you have to offer. You're going to be able to provide your opinions on maybe some products where you have an affiliate relationship.
3. You're definitely improving your search engine optimization. We all know with Google, content is king. When you have new information when the spiders come to call, they make note of that and then they'll start coming back more often. You definitely want the spiders crawling your site. That is a large part of the search engine optimization.
4. You want people to come back to your site. Ask yourself the question, how often do you want people to come back? That will be a really good indicator of how many blog posts or posts you should be doing on your website.
The same holds true with your Facebook page. You definitely want to have that connection between your blog and your Facebook page so that you automatically have your blog posts show up on your Facebook page.
The same principles apply for posts on your Facebook Page.
You want people to be engaged, you want to be providing new information, quality content to keep those readers, customers coming back again and again.
Be sure to have the RSS feed on your website. That way, people can subscribe and they will receive an email that tells them that you have created a new blog post. It's one of the great ways to assist people in returning to your website over and over and over again.
